Profile

Bérengère Laplanche has been a member of the Quebec Bar since 2020 and she works for public protection, focusing her practice on disciplinary law.

Bérengère holds a Bachelor of Civil Law and a Double Master’s Degree of Private Law and Criminal Science (LL.M.), respectively completed in France and in Germany, as well as a Master II of Comparative Business Law, and she acquired her legal training at University of Montreal.

Before crossing the Atlantic, she started her career at the attorney general’s office of the Colmar Court of Appeal (France) where she was in charge of international judicial cooperation and trans-border criminal law cases. She was also a lecturer for several years at the French-German border, teaching legal drafting techniques for commercial/contract law to future bilingual legal assistants or technicians.

Building on these experiences, Bérengère completed her Quebec Bar articling and practiced as a lawyer at a boutique firm specialized in professional, disciplinary and penal law before joining the Sarrazin+Plourde team in 2022.

Bérengère attaches high importance to human values such as freedom, dignity and integrity. This is why she chooses to get involved with the disciplinary bodies of various Quebec professional orders, whether regarding financial fraud, corruption/collusion or as part of disciplinary or penal proceedings in the healthcare sector.
