Profile

With a civil law degree from the University of Ottawa, Samy works at Sarrazin + Plourde in commercial law, corporate law and civil and disciplinary litigation, and his interest in privacy issues and emerging technologies.

Before joining the firm, Samy worked at a boutique administrative litigation firm, where he took part in judicial review cases involving economic immigration. He also did an internship at a LegalTech, where he worked in business and information technology law, assisting entrepreneurs at various stages of their business journey.

Samy is fluent in both French and English, and has the ability to distill complex issues into simple terms. He is involved with the Young Bar Association of Montreal's Information Technology Committee.

During his studies, he was also involved in several associations, including the University of Ottawa Business Law Association and Student Pro Bono of Canada (SPBC). With a passion for literature and running, he is also interested in alternative and international ways of making clothes, and in the various architectural and artistic movements from the 1940s to the 1980s. He is also interested in urban planning, particularly transit-oriented development
